Front seat support breaked

Hi,
I’ve changed two times my front seat support because it breaks itself in the middle.
Here photos of seat support on Twizy (you have to put the seat ahead and look at seat support bottom side) and the same after getting off seat cushion

Have you had same problem?
Please, can you check it?
Thank’s a lot

Has not anybody checked?

Looks fine on mine, not even any stress marks that might precede a fracture…

My seat is OK. I can’t figure out your photos, though.

Checked mine again tonight - its has cracked:’(

So now I’ll have to see what Renault say.

Can you please photo the part, I am still at a loss as to what we are talking about!

Andy

Not sure I can without taking the seat out. All I did was push the seat right back and put my hand under. On the right side of car like in the second picture above - I presume. By feeling up under the seat I found the crack and got my fingers trapped in it- ouch.

Yep, looks like ours has gone too. It feels and looks like plastic, and doesn’t seem to be load-bearing. Doesn’t affect the feel of the seat (yet).

Because e444 postedt this problem in another forum i checked mine.
Mine was broken and was changed after some weeks by renault. I can feel the difference quite well, now the seat is straight and i sit higher.

Okay here is my attempt to photo the issue.
The attached pictures are a bit difficult to understand unless you have access to a Twizy. The pictures are all taken from the front of the front seat and are looking back and up under the seat and along the tray over the battery. The strap that can be seen is the front seat release for the rear passenger. So that is attached to the front seat release and travels rearwards. Picture 1 The other pictures try to show as much of the crack as I can without removing the seat.
From the top the seat looks perfect. However the supporting or sub structure as failed. I have tried to show where.

Thanks for the photos
I will check my Twizy to see if it is cracked…

Andy

GOOD NEWS!!!

Renault modified this spare part since june 2013 so new Twizy will not have this problem. If you have this problem on your “old” Twizy, you can change it under warranty.

Thanks for the update. It explains why there are no seats in the UK, I have let my dealer know so they can ensure they fit the updated version.

How does the seat come? Pre coloured or does it need painting?
I don’t know if the part that breaks is even visible or hidden.
Thanks in advance.

Here is a picture who shown the difference between the new support (on the left) and the old one (on the right)

Many thanks for the picture my dealer would not photograph the parts before fitting the new version. I wasn’t sure what the difference was but feeling underneath there is a big hole missing and your photograph shows that. Not as comfy now.
