Tax Implications and Benefit in Kind (BiK)

An update for any of you with Twizy as a Company Car

Currently Twizy has a BiK of ZERO. This means that no company car tax is payable as part of your personal liability. It is a free perk. Next year is the same. But in 2015/2016 Tax Year the government propose to TAX electric vehicles (ALL OF THEM) as a 13% BiK and then the following year 2016/2017 increasing this to 15%. Nice to see the Government has a coherent Environmental and Renewable Energy policy. That should encourage fleet sales then particularly since battery technology improvements over the next 3 years should produce ranges more attractive to your average motorist…

Mine will be sold at that point, probably to myself for a pound :slight_smile:
