Press release here: http://www.renaultsportf1.com/IMG/pdf/rsf1-presskit-twizyf1-2013-en-hd.pdf

Specs better than the UK version but the Renault Twizy in the UK looked better.

This wouldn’t be legal on UK roads would it?

It looks like an all-weather lawn mower to me. Must be my age.

Brilliant, now not only can you silently sneak up on people you can mow them down.

I would love these wheels on my Twizy. Any ideas on if we could get these from anywhere?

You’d need to lose your mud-flaps! [Not that you would want to drive this on anything but a very dry, very smooth surface].

Why not?..
The only difference it could not be classed as a Quadricyclle like it is now, there is a 15Kw (21 BHP) Power Limit.
But it could be classed as a Small Car

97 BHP KERS would be useful at the Traffic Lights!

That was my thinking, that it would no longer be classed as a quadricycle. Is there anything stopping the Twizy from being classified as a small car? i.e would it need to have more safety checks etc?

On the Facebook pages its stated a just a concept.

I don’t think there would be any problem, there are a lot of small cars with a lot more power than the F1 Twizy and they are OK
On another point I drive my Twizy on my ‘Motorcycle’ Licence which has full B1 entitlement.
As long as you passed your bike test before 2001 you can drive a Twizy.
The B1 also allows me to drive other other full Power cars as long as the weight is below 550kg Unladen.
A stupid Law I know but I am not complaining!

I know, but we can Dream!

Whats amazing to me about the F1 Twizy is that it still has the standard 13kw motor. Its the KERS that provides the extra boost and could feasibly be retrofitted to any Twizy, potentially making it even more efficient around town and a lot more fun at the lights.
Check out the vid, you can hear the whine of the KERS booster as it kicks in at the end.
